Nayeli graduated from Boston Latin Academy and will be attending University of Massachusetts Boston to study Engineering Physics in September. At the age of eight, Nayeli began to inquire about the world above us, and with the assistance of her father retrieved answers to her many questions from astronomy documentaries aired on Discovery Channel. While in high school she had the opportunity to participate in programs such as, the Boston University School of Medicine Science Teaching Enrichment Program and Yale Young Global Scholars: Frontiers of Math & Science program. Both activities allowed her to deeper her knowledge in STEM and professional pathways. Throughout her high school career, Nayeli also won various local science fairs, and also competed in the Massachusetts Science and Engineering Fair. With all she has accomplished thus far, in the future she seeks to do research on space and contribute to the overall advancement of space exploration.

What change do you want to make with your STEM degree?: “I want to facilitate access to STEM related careers to underrepresented youth by one day establishing a nonprofit organization that would educate youth on STEM jobs.”
